SOFT TISSUE IS THE ISSUE
Soft tissue (muscle and connective tissue) dysfunction may be caused by overuse or injury of a joint or muscle, improper body posture, or abnormal bone or muscle structures, and may occur in association with other diseases or conditions. When this happens muscles tend to shorten, the connective tissue (fascia) surrounding and anchoring the muscle becomes restricted and both are unable to return to their normal length. This causes restricted or painful movement by compression, impingement or pulling on bones, nerves, blood or lymphatic vessels. Symptoms from soft tissue dysfunction can sometimes mimic other conditions such as arthritis, bursitis, sinus headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome and others. Far too often these soft tissues are overlooked or insufficiently treated.
At Touch Therapy Associates we address the body’s dysfunctional soft tissues!
Many of our clients and patients have completed Physical Therapy being told they have reached “maximum benefit” then find their condition improve with our course of therapy. Some are still in Physical Therapy and we compliment this with added soft tissue treatment. We very often see positive results in those who have had chronic conditions for months or many years.
Some conditions are complex and have multiple causes and contributing factors; therefore, a multi-disciplinary approach may be needed for optimal results. Sometimes the best thing we can do for you is to suggest other forms of treatment and refer you to a qualified practitioner in that field.
Medical and Chiropractic Physicians, as well as Case Managers, from around the Metropolitan Detroit area have trusted Touch Therapy Associates to treat their patients... WHY NOT YOU?
